We will walk a longggg way to our favourite fish shop! We love it so much, we booked a private cooking class here (which we did last night) and we had a blast!
Upon arrival, appetizers and oysters were waiting for us on the large butcher block table while we settled in, poured some wine (its byob) and caught up with our friends. We were a group of 11. The class itself was informal and not intimidating whatsoever. Our chef Serenia led and we could all choose our level of involvement. I personally love to watch, but my boyfriend was more interested in the action and participating.
The four finished plates were SO yummy! Halibut cheeks with potato, bacon and mushrooms. Sea bream toasties on greens. Crispy pan roasted salmon with fish sauce and chill rapini. Poached trout with fennel, Pernod and vegetables. Can't wait for the recipes to come through, we will continue to make these all at home!
As for the store experience, the service (Meg is the most memorable) is always super helpful and never make us feel rushed or pushed into a decision. And the fish is by far the best in the city, hands down.
