  • On June 14th I took a trip to Phoenix AZ for a week long vacation visiting with a close friend. A few days after I arrived I started having bad pain in my leg. I have a history of blood clots. My buddy took me to the Abrazo Scottsdale campus ER. I was promptly seen and evaluated. I had developed a new blood clot while 1200 miles away from my wife and my home. I was admitted right away and treated. I had minor surgery to put in a filter to try to stop any clots from traveling to my lungs. It's hard being hospitalized that far from home. It's also hard having a 3 hour time difference. My wife was unable to get to Phoenix to be with me. I want to say how great my care was. EVERYONE was great. I was hospitalized from June 19th through the 23rd. All my nurses and techs were wonderful. I would like to recognize all of those who cared for me but I can't remember all there names. So anyone who cared for the guy from Indiana in room 210b THANK YOU VERY MUCH. you all made a bad situation a little better. Also I want to add that the food was pretty good for hospital food. Gary.
