This place solely exists for tourists but it's still a fun place to browse if you find yourself on the Strip! The store is pretty boring, with all of the same old Hershey candies you can find at your local Walmart (bags of Hershey candy, stuffed Hershey bar toys, a very small sugar free chocolates section, etc.). What makes this place super cool is the M&Ms bar and the fresh bakery case.
The self-serve M&Ms bar is fun, especially if you are looking for color-coordinated candies for a party. They also have all sorts of cool varieties of Hershey Kisses, including several I've never seen before. You can buy these in bulk by the pound which is great if you just want a few to try. It's a great way to get a variety of flavors so you can figure out which ones you like the most.
The bakery case is fantastic. It reminds me of the candy shops at Disneyland but everything is made with Hershey brand chocolates. I couldn't resist the giant chocolate chip cookie sandwich (just $5.00)! It was crazy delicious and not overpriced at all (the thing felt like it weighed a pound and was plenty for 2 of us to share). There are all kinds of tasty goodies here, so don't be shy. We took our cookie sandwich down the street to Sambalatte and enjoyed a cappuccino while we munched on our sweet treat while sitting at the outdoor tables and enjoying the people watching.
This is a fun store and worth a stop if you love chocolate or if your sweet tooth starts to tingle. One suggestion: it would be super cool if Hershey's Chocolate World would take a hint from Ghirardelli and greet you with a complimentary piece of chocolate. That would be the icing on the (chocolate) cake!
