  • I was a loyal patient initially to Dr. Greene, then Dr. Baugh and eventually Dr. Harman. I was extremely satisfied with the dental care I received by Dr. Baugh and was sad to see him leave. I luckily don't have major dental issues, but following the birth of my second son, I was having significant dental pain. Although I did get a cleaning and exam less than six months prior to my last visit to Canyon Vista (2/12) I was diagnosed with needing a root canal and cap. I corresponded with Melanie, the Ops Manager about the cost associated with the treatment I needed. Being very familiar with my dental insurance, I was perplexed when the quote came back significantly higher than it should. I compared the dental codes directly with my insurance company, and determined that the office was mis-quoting me for the work that needed to be done. By mis-quote, we're talking $2,127.00 just for my portion! I brought this to Melanie's attention and that is when the excuses started. Dr. Harmon told me he would be performing my root canal. The quote Melanie provided included an out of network charge to have the work done by a Specialist. When I informed her that Dr. Harmon would be doing the work, she responded that he didn't recall having that conversation with me, but would be willing to give it a shot!! Seriously? I didn't want anyone performing dental work on me that wasn't confident they could do the job well! I was in a significant amount of pain and elected to find another dental office that was willing to treat me and honor my insurance copayment schedule. The other office verified with my insurance my cost responsibility would be $580!! I compared the dental codes from Canyon Vista and the other dental office and they were the same four digit codes. I truly was disappointed to learn that I was being misled by Canyon Vista, especially after I had stayed with the office even as their dentists left. I would not recommend this office!
