| - Stayed here with my fiance during the summer and really loved this place. It was both our first time staying in a Residence Inn hotel and also our first time in Montreal. This is a great place to stay if you are visiting for the first time because it is in the heart of down town. (Although there is a much nicer and bigger one some blocks down on Rue Saint Jean Baptiste). Our room was very nice, with it's little kitchenette like style and large refrigerator. We had clean sheets each day and house keeping never came before we were sleeping. The free wifi was quite fast. The restroom was a nice descent size. The free breakfast in the morning, down in the hearth room was actually really good. There was hot food like eggs, sausage, toasted bread, grits and oatmeal and such and there were also regular cold cereal, pastries and the like. The only bad thing is everyone is coming over here for some free breakfast too, so seating is limited and so you may have to improvise on the fly and eat standing up or something. And keep you eyes out, constantly watching for a table to be available.
Now the parking here is pretty expensive... about $25 a day expensive... but you have no choice because there is no other place to park... so I guess just suck it up. All the other hotels around here are parking roughly the same amount.
One nice thing here is that there are always freshly baked cookies available in the afternoon at the front desk (Although that doesn't forgive the expensive parking charge, but you might as well get a cookie because you will pay for it whether you have 1 or not, when the time comes for you to pay and check out of here).
Overall, hotel was clean and located in a nice area. Room was big enough for just us 2 and the wifi was consistent. Service was friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was delicious and so were the cookies. If I came back, I wouldn't mind staying here again.
