I've dined in once and ordered take out 3-4 times. Tonight was the last straw. I got delivery and I paid $3.99 for the 8 piece crab puff appetizer. Anyone that orders from Chinese-American restaurants knows what to expect. Except this place is soo cheap with the cream cheese krab meat filling. At first I thought it was a mistake and they gave me plain fried won tons, but sure enough there was a spec of cream cheese in each wonton. It was like the unlucky kitchen took the filling of one normal sized crab puff and stretched it to "fill" 8 of them. I feel completely ripped off. Worst appetizer ever.
I also had Hunan Chicken and pork fried rice.
The hunan chicken was ok but it was deep fried. Not what I'm accustomed to getting. And of course it was soggy having sat enclosed in a styrofoam container, steaming, on the way to my house. Some of their other dishes I've tried before were a bit "off" as well. This is not authentic chinese by a long shot. For that try South China on 7th Ave. (now temp closed for remodeling)
The pork fried rice was passable, although very greasy. The menu actually states it contains MSG. Bottom line is I know at least 4 other Chinese places within a 4 mile radius, with far better food. I don't think Lucky Kitchen is good or even decent. I eat a lot of Asian and Chinese food and this place is below average. Anyone that rates this over 2 stars has not tried much of the menu. Even the soups are disappointing.
