This is my second time at The Alley. This was the grand opening weekend for the Scarborough location so a long wait was expected. Although there was an expected wait, the actual wait was about 56 minutes including lining up to order. Would I ever wait this long for bubble tea? Most likely not.
The quality of their bubble tea is very good though, I ordered their large signature Royal No. 9 with tapioca which comes out $6.00+taxes. The tapioca has a great texture and is chewy. The actual milk tea is a blend with some hint of blueberries so it is very unique.
The actual shop is nice but this isn't a sit down type of bubble tea cafe although there are a few chairs and tables to sit. They're more or less the same type of take out bubble tea like Cha Time or CoCo. Competition is fierce for bubble tea in this city, their prices and wait times are not competitive.
I would recommend a try if it's your first time but if I ever saw a lineup like that I wouldn't wait.
