| - Disappointed.
For father's day, I was really stoked to finally get to check out Bachi Burger from all the rave reviews and being '#1 Hot on Yelp' for the past last weeks now. My expectations were high from reading 4+ 5 star reviews.
Upon arrival, we parked near subway. There's apparently two different entrances? I don't know if the way we entered was the back or the front (near bathroom)? There was no sign that said anything. When we walked in, we waited for a "host/hostess" to seat us. What we didn't expect was for this guy who was sitting with his family at a table to get up and greet us! Was caught off guard at first. Thought that guy was a customer??
[[ Food ]]
Appetizers - the "Chili fried chicken" was thebomb .com! The taste of the fried chicken with the chili, ginger, and soy sauce gave it so much flavor and kick. And! the sweet potato fries was addicting.
Entrees, we had to try there famous Bachi specialty burgers, not no steamed sandwiches. I picked "KIKI's BURGER" because I thought the name was funny hahaha :x it had sauteed mushrooms, caramelized bacon, and gruyere cheese. The bff ordered the "KALBI BURGER" - ground beef, green onions, kim chee, with Ko Chu Jang Mayo. We both shared half of each other's burger so that we can say who ordered the better burger haha! Well... both tasted okay. It was good, but was it OMG that's frickin good!? NO. That is where the disappointment came in. The bff didn't expect the Kalbi burger to be what it was, which is like any other burger, but a different bun. We expected an actual Kalbi in there or something?! In my opinion, I thought the burgers tasted the exact same, only with different condiments. To wash it down, we drank a CHERRY YUZU SODA - made with pure sugar cane. Not like the cherry pepsi or coke. More on the sweeter side with less carbonation. FYI - not part of the free refills.
[[ Restaurant ]]
I'm a bit confused with the whole restaurant ambiance. Too many things going on. I think for business, it would be better if they added table booths for seating rather than just regular tables and chairs. OH! and can I say that I HATE there place mats!! Those darn things kept giving me small checkered imprints on my elbows. wth.
Overall, customer service was fair. Food was average. Food presentation needs work. Prices is not too expensive, but $8 for the "quality" of the burger's is pushing it. Is it worth coming back? yeah sure, everyone should go to Bachi Burger at least once. i'd probably come back later and try the others.
