A lot of people love this market but I just think it's okay. Maybe because being spoiled by the So Cal produce that I think this place is only alright. But I guess it is Cleveland after all. The selections of produce are bigger than all the grocery stores in Cleveland but I would really only recommend going in the summer.
I usually shop at Zagara's since it's close by where I live and I find the quality of the produce at Zagara's is similar to the West side market's. They do have an awesome selection of meats and seafood.
You do have to be careful when you shop there, especially the produce. Sometimes you will ask for three avocados since the ones on display on the outside looked so good, then when you hand your money over and look in the bag, you get three crappy dying looking avocado. Just be sure you pick your own produce out and hand it to them to weight.
Overall, it's a pleasant market to visit once in awhile. Maybe not worth driving for 20 min for me when Zagara's right down the street.
