| - I'm a sucker for a good hotel.
Met my brother's family and my parents+sister down in Pittsburgh for the Independence Day weekend to celebrate my mother's birthday. NOT an easy weekend to find a hotel last minute, especially with the Kenny Chesney concert going on that same weekend. Eeeks! Fortunately, Coraopolis is far enough away (but still reasonable proximity to Pittsburgh) that the Embassy Suites wasn't booked solid and we were able to get two rooms at an incredibly reasonable rate.
The rooms were smaller than I expected but still very comfortable, and the hotel really worked hard to get us two adjoining rooms, even though when we initially reserved, we didn't request them.
Price included a free breakfast buffet and a made-to-order omelet bar, which was a huge $$ saver for a group of 7. It was a packed hotel (wedding+family reunion+4th of July crowd), but things still moved at an incredibly fast pace which was greatly appreciated. When seating filled up in the breakfast area, they opened up the restaurant area for our family so that we could all be together (unfortunately that included the non-morning people in our family!).
Extra towels, pillows, and blankets came incredibly fast. Though, the concierge desk definitely needs to be updated. The *ahem* older...members of my family like to do the typical 'touristy' stuff. But nothing is more infuriating than following iffy directions to locations that aren't open. Or haven't been open in several years. Or are grossly different than the hotel described (I'm looking at you, Economy Village).
Really loved my stay there. Will definitely be staying there again in the near future.
