I'm going to have an unpopular opinion about this place. I was really excited to go because of the type of art it houses. I am extremely into modern, eclectic installations. When I read the back of the little pamphlet they give you that some art may move you or that you may feel intense things when looking at it, I was ready! I love when art can move me in that way. However.. I was very disappointed.
There are four floors and another building a few doors down. We started at the smaller building and I honestly couldn't even tell you what it was. I felt like I was walking through a weird haunted house that wasn't scary. The main building is comprised of 4 floors. There were hardly any installations on these floors. And the installations that they had weren't impressive except for Greer Lankton, which I absolutely adored and was moved by. I'm happy that was there or else I would've just been completely let down. What I've seen on their website was NOT all there or open and they didn't tell us that whatsoever. So I paid $20 for literally half of what they advertise.
I'm just super disappointed. This place was not worth the money I paid when I literally pay the same for the Art and History museum in Oakland and can spend all day there.
