| - Went here this week and was amazed! This is the largest aquarium in the Southwest United States and it's in the middle of the DESERT!
It blows my mind that it only has a three star rating on Yelp! Goes to show how many people there are that will complain about how much it costs to go to an aquarium but will pay big money to watch fights on pay per view, go to fancy restaurants, sporting events, etc...
How much does it cost to run that place? LOTS of water, insane amount of food those sharks must eat, electricity for all the pumps, etc!
I grew up in Chicago and went to the Shedd Aquarium a lot! This one is nicer to me and yes it does cost more. Again, it's in the middle of the DESERT! I got an annual pass at the discount rate this week and I believe it was $69! That's not bad for unlimited trips to an aquarium of this caliber! And there are perks like not having to wait in the admission line and discounts on food and in the gift shop.
Great destination for families with the bumper boats, eating establishments, gift shops and the butterfly center next door. Can't wait to check that out next!
There are two casinos nearby, golf driving range, Salt River Field, Indoor Sky Diving, etc.
Great job to the Salt River Pima Reservation and Scottsdale for making all this happen!
