I would give this place 10 stars if I could..
I have been wanting to go here for years after seeing a story about this old-fashioned barber shop in the Post-Gazette a few years back. Boy have I been missing out! Not only did I get the best haircut I've had in my whole life but I was treated with a warm welcome from the nicest Italian man I have ever met "Naz". The atmosphere of genuine care and the warm feeling you get there is an experience that you just don't have anywhere in today's society.
As I waited my turn, I sat next to one of the regulars and got to learn a little bit more of the history of the barbershop. Apparently Naz the barber is so famous That many celebrities- including some Pittsburgh Steelers- regularly fly in just to get their haircut by this humble, kind man. Even so I am told he treats both blue-collar workers and CEOs all equally- with kindness. Apparently he immigrated to this country many years ago for a better life and his dirt poor background has given him a reputation of one of the hardest working people around. One of the his customers said that Naz is so grateful to his customers for their service that he comes to cut hair at 4:30 AM to accommodate many workers before their shift starts and he stays well past 7pm accommodate people after work. Now that is saying a lot since he has to be around retirement age!
It is just such a great place and Naz is so wonderful of a barber I can't say it loud enough... I felt like I walked into a time travel machine that took me to a place of genuine good service and happiness from someone (not a chain) that was truly grateful for my patronage. Not to mention I look pretty darn good with my new haircut!! Oh and the talcum powder and warm towel on my neck were old fashioned awesome treats! You have to check it out!
