| - After hitting Sea Life, we decided to try a new brewery and here we are. When we walked in, we were not expecting it to be so big. This place is huge!
German style beer hall seating and roll up doors leading to an outside patio area. There is no cover so don't think it will be used much until the temps cool off or they put up something for shade. They also had an upstairs area that appears one can use for parties, nice touch. Games- corn hole and giant jenga (always a fave) are opposite of the bar, near the restrooms.
We sampled the two porters they had on tap (vanilla porter and lint head porter). Honestly, although not bad, we could not tell the difference. When I asked my husband which he liked better, he politely said, "makes no difference to me". That hit the nail on the head. I was looking forward to a vanilla flavor, even if it was slight. There was none. Both are light for porters with malty earthy flavors at 5.7 ABV. My husband decided on the vanilla porter. I got their Rocky River IPA. Nothing really stood out, your standard IPA. At 6.3 ABV, this was their highest octane on tap. So you high gravity drinkers out there, this would not be my first choice.
We also tried the English Bitter 5.2 and it was the best one we had today! Annnnd the Boll Weevil Nitro Brown 5.0 - pretty good. For those of you who are strictly wine, they have that too.
Overall, nice place, clean, and friendly staff. Maybe will revisit in hopes they will tweak their beer a bit. Great start and headed in the right direction of being a great brewery.
