I'm a fatty obsessed with food. And as a fattie who is obsessed with food I like to waddle around in grocery stores looking at various foods and fantasizing about eating them. As a fattie tourist I find it especially fascinating to peruse through the grocery aisle of another culture's market. Call me a foodie anthropologist.
This supermarket is located in the basement level of the Complexe Desjardin mall. It is very clean and the workers were friendly. It is a great place to pick up souvenirs for your trip. They have maple syrup in decorative bottles and cans, and various maple syrup themed treats, cookies, etc. at a more reasonable price compared to the inflated prices you would have to pay at souvenir shops. You would be please to find Dieu du Ciel!, Cheval Blanc as well as other beers unique to Quebec.
It's a convenient location to pick up basic items you may need. It's open til 9pm every night. Bring reusable bags in case you want to stock up on souvenirs/beeers/basic groceries to make it easier to carry around.
