  • Stayed here for March Toronto Comicon (without the con rate, no WAY could I have afforded this place!), and it was the BEST hotel I have ever stayed in! I absolutely loved it. I just wish I could afford to come here again at its regular price since I won't be attending that con any more. We arrived Friday early afternoon, with two enormous suitcases of costumes and artist alley table wares, and there wasn't a single hitch at check-in. Only a short wait at the desk, we were offered help with our luggage (didn't need it, but still nice), and when I mentioned it was a bit disappointing to not have a mini-fridge, as being here on convention business means we bring most of our own food along to save on eating out, they offered us one for no charge whatsoever and it was delivered in twenty minutes! Talk about a bonus. The lobby, too, is super neat. Very modern and interestingly laid out, with a couple restaurants. Some weirdly placed stairs, though, it was a bit of a challenge with heavy suitcases. Lots of elevators so we never had a long wait to our room. The hotel is also very close to other restaurants, TTC and a shoppers drug mart, being in the middle of downtown, and only a short walk to the convention centre. We got a corner (I think) room with a king bed, and it was BEAUTIFUL. More of this ultra-modern decor (instead of clothes dressers, there were these odd cube-cupboards to put your things in, a wall-mounted TV and some pull-out desktop spaces), and a walk-in shower in the lovely bathroom. We didn't have a great view, partly due to rooftop construction going on next door, but that didn't matter to me at all. Room was very clean, bright and pretty spacious, we had ample room for our stuff, suitcases, costume items and even a few friends socializing with us in the evening. The in-room keurig also had a good selection, though I mostly just use it for hot water to make breakfast, as I don't drink coffee. We kept the do not disturb sign up all weekend, but the cleaners were always saying good morning when we left and asking if we needed anything. ONLY downside I had was that because this hotel is downtown and close to the CN tower, the light pollution is REALLY bad. The curtains were heavy and did a good job, but were hard to get completely closed over the window to block out all the light, so I had to switch sides in the bed to not be bothered by the extremely-bright crack of light that kept seeping through on my side. Otherwise I slept very well (though the pillows could be less smushy, I'm a side a sleeper and need the extra support). Hoping I can find a reason to stay here again!
