I took my daughter here to get some box braids. I spoke with a woman in charge and selected the size of braids I wanted. She offered to have me pay an extra $30 for an additional person to braid my child's hair so it would go faster. I wasn't interested, but it took me weeks to convince her it wouldn't be as long as she feared. So for my daughter's sake I paid the extra $30.
I got her settled and left to do a few errands. I was unaware that after I left they had her sign in a book with a higher price to be paid. So instead of telling me this before I left, they thought they had an easy score. At one point my daughter text me to say the braiders weren't braiding her hair. I made an immediate appearance there to see what was going on, but by the time I returned someone was doing her hair again. I asked where the other person I was paying for was, of course, she went to get food. So I sat there and they sent a different woman to help with the braiding.
At the conclusion, they tried to get me to pay the amount they had a child sign for even though they saw and spoke to me. If I'm making the decisions, why pull a trick like that? When confronted, they pretend they can't speak English. If I had said, "No money," they would've understood that clearly I bet.
They will NEVER again get my business. This is why so many people HATE dealing with these African braiding shops.
