| - Dining at Jaleo was our "gourmet splurge night" during this particular Vegas visit. We were about 10mins early for our reservation on a Saturday night, so we did have to wait. We were supposed to sit at a booth but some random people had stolen it from us - boo! Luckily there was no more delay to getting us seated at this busy, loud restaurant. Our waitress was very informative and was great at letting us know what was and wasn't available for the evening. Each dish arrived quickly and the presentation for each one was remarkable!
Croquetas de pollo (Traditional chicken fritters) - this arrived in a shoe. Yes - a shoe. Aside from the quirky presentation, the fritters were delicious - creamy and comforting, as if someone took a chicken stew and fried it up into fritter bits!
Bikini de jamón ibérico, queso Manchego y trufas (Pressed sandwich of ibérico ham, manchego cheese and truffles) - honestly, none of us said a thing while eating this. It was good, but we were probably expecting a little more. It felt too simple.
Caña de cabra con highs ((Murcia) A soft, semi-sweet goat's milk cheese paired with raisin walnut bread and fig jam) - I could've eaten a whole log of this cheese on a whole loaf of the walnut break with a whole jar of that jam.
Salmón crudo con huevas de salmón (Salmon tartare and salmon roe cone) - another favorite that stood out from the rest! Strong and fresh with a great combination of textures!
Arroz con costillas de cerdo ibérico de bellota Paella (Made with the ribs of the legendary, black-footed ibérico de bellota pigs of Spain) - This plate was meant for 2, but really it would be for 1. Luckily it was enough for all of us to get a good taste of the flavorful rice, mushrooms and pork!
The following were good and flavorful but not that exciting (in my humble opinion): Gambas al ajillo, Pollo a la parrilla con queso Valdeón y mostaza, Jamón serrano Fermín
We ordered enough and were stuffed! Our evening of Spanish tapas was delicious - gracias Chef Andres!
