  • I don't even know how to review this place - so I wasn't going to until I read some ridiculous reviews. I've been here a number of times and have never seen a fight. I've brought my girl friends with me and they had a great time and didn't get roofied. And yes while there are some odd characters here and there, they won't bother you. Most people in CZ are normal people with normal lives. Don't buy into the paranoia. It's hard to review CZ because in many ways what makes this place so wrong is what makes it so right. The long lines in the blistering cold, the nasty bathroom stalls, and the sprinkle of weird characters here and there all somehow just add to the overall CZ experience. CZ just wouldn't be CZ without it. The place isn't trying to be anything it's not, and all the flaws of this place really stem from the good. People stand in lines because they're dedicated. The bathroom stalls are dirty because the after hour stays open for a long time. People are weird because it's late, and are coming down (or up) from whatever they did beforehand. I came here coincidentally because my initials happen to be CZ, and I wanted one of those I *heart* CZ bracelets. What was supposed to be a once in a lifetime adventure got me hooked - I ended up having an amazing time. The crowd is an interesting blend of people from all phases of life: young college students trying out CZ for their first time, middle-aged Vietnamese couples having a good night out without being bothered by their kids, shirtless gay men dancing as hard as they possibly can, rich business men with their trophy girlfriends - basically, anyone will fit in to the crowd. You can strike up a convo with anyone in there, and chances are you'll get a friendly response. You can wear whatever you want, be whoever you want, dance however you want - there is no judgement. Just be you, because no one cares. I do agree that the music is better on some nights than others, but I wouldn't say that it is ever bad, and usually tips towards good to amazing. If you don't like house music, then this place is really not the place for you - all you'll hear are what sounds like repetitive noises. If you like house music, then it should hit the spot. The venue is a bit on the smaller side, and can get pretty crowded at times but I don't ever recall it being too crowded. I usually have enough room around me to dance comfortably. It can get pretty hot though when it's crowded, but you're free to go in and out to grab some fresh air, take a smoke break, heck you can even make a quick stop at the Burger King next door and come back in without having to line up again. If you want to stand on the dance floor looking pretty in hopes that someone will buy you drinks - forget it. It's just not that type of place, and they don't even serve alcohol. Wash away your usual self-conscious self for a night, dance to your heart's content, and just enjoy yourself. You'll know within the first 30 minutes if this is the place for you. P.S. You're not allowed to take photos of this place so I don't have any to post.
