  • I work at Queen's Park and I was excited to find a cleaners nearby offering weekend cleaning services. I left my suit on the Friday (October 18th) and picked it up on the Monday (21st). To my dismay, I found a rip on the left sleeve of the jacket before leaving the store. There was no possible way that the rip was there on the Friday when I dropped it off, because it was a very noticeable rip. I asked the gentleman (the owner/manager) if he could fix it and he said it would an extra $80 and take two weeks to get back to me. I said that would be fine, but told him that he would need to pay the costs since he was the one who damaged it. Naturally, he refused, and told me that I would need to pay. I told him that he would lose a customer if he was not able to take responsibility for his mistake and pay the damages. He told me that my business was not worth $80 to him. I took the suit up the road to Cheeseworth's Cleaner on Mount Pleasant. They offered me the same service (invisible mending) for $40 and only 10 days time. I of course obliged and left the suit with them. I then called the gentleman back at Golden Hangers telling him that I was able to find a cheaper and quicker service, but told him that I would be bringing the bill by for him to pay. If he refused, I threatened to write this Yelp review. I have also submitted a claim to the BBB, will be writing a Google review, and will be submitting the receipt to small-claims court. Finally, I will consistently and continuously remind my coworkers to not do business with this gentleman in the future. Dont get me wrong - the cleaning job was done well. I footed the bill for the cleaning because of that fact. The rip, and their poor conflict management - and by extension their poor customer service - was completely extraordinary. I urge anybody looking for reliable and friendly service, or even simply a business which values their customers to avoid Golden Hangers Cleaners at all costs.
