Maybe it's because of the fact that my standard for the Motel 6 chain is pretty low, but I was pleasantly surprised by how great this motel was. It's in a central location--within walking distance to the Fashion Square Mall and lots of great dining spots--and the area seems pretty safe, with well-lit streets and a decent amount of upscale clientele traffic.
Our room was the biggest surprise since it was recently remodeled with a new, European style. Everything was clean, well-maintained, and even appeared to be brand new--even down to the mattress (I seriously stripped off all the sheets to look at the top and bottom of the mattress).
The price per night was decent ($80), given that you could easily be paying in the mid- to high-$100s for lodging in the same area.
Overall, my husband and I were pretty impressed and our OCD about cleanliness was put to rest during our stay here. When in Scottsdale, we'll definitely stay again.
