Skysong has been a pretty solid place to live. It's centrally located between old town & the east valley, a short drive to downtown Phoenix and only 10 minutes from sky harbor airport. The apartments inside are really nice and I love the hardwood floors and stainless steel appliances- this place is only a few years old. I've had no problems with maintenance; my hot water tank went out and it was fixed quickly. They even offered to pay for a hotel for the night!
John in the leasing office is so enthusiastic and knowledgeable, he's made everything so smooth and always checks up when we cross paths.
The pool and hot tub are always clean which is awesome, and the gas grills outside are nice to have guests over and lounge with the nice weather. The gym is decently sized and I love the 24/7 coffee machine/ lounge area/ pool.
I can't quite give 5 stars for a few reasons. The gate situation is horrendous. The plastic arms just keep getting broke and repaired constantly- I'd suggest an entirely new, more secure system. Guest parking isn't too ideal either. The hallways are a bit dirty, but I do love the open air flow and see how it's hard to keep clean. The demographic is well balanced here, but we are a bit close to ASU and some students that live here can be sloppy sometimes which is kind of annoying. The garage speed bumps are obnoxious too but people also drive like maniacs in the garage so it's a necessary evil. (Side note- what's up with sharing the garage with the offices next door? Don't they have an entire parking garage over there?)
Ultimately I'm not renewing because I'd like to get closer to work, but I'd totally recommend checking this place out- the pros definitely outweigh the cons! I understand there's new management and they're already making good strides I've noticed! MAA properties are nice and I'm considering another one of their properties for my next move.
Oh did I mention free yoga classes every Tuesday at Skysong? They bring in an official instructor for an hour long class which is really cool and no other apartment I've noticed does this! They totally need to advertise this hidden gem more! (Maria is awesome)
