  • INSPECT WHAT YOU EXPECT! CYC was recommended by a Scottsdale BBQ company and positive reviews on Yelp gave us confidence in hiring them to construct a built-in BBQ and Fire Pit. The employees and subs were terrific: timely, hard working,and neat HOWEVER the lack of appropriate project oversight resulted in many errors and omissions...the project design was wrong from the start with corrections necessary after the fact (ex:the masonry sub had to take down part of the block work for the BBQ and rebuild it), some materials were of poor quality or missing parts, and numerous calls to Mark and/or Mandie were necessary to ensure completion of the project in a satisfactory manner. I even sent a harsh email to Chris, CYC's owner, expressing our frustration. I am still shocked that CYC did not think it was necessary or appropriate to conduct a final project inspection even after I paid the final bill. I hope that projects with budgets greater than the $10,000 that we spent would receive better management. Net, net: if you are not prepared to provide your own project oversight on a daily basis, hire another landscape firm.
