  • Husband and I came here on a Saturday night around 5:30 for dinner. We were going to see Boyz II Men after so we purchased a dinner and show package through the Mirage which gives you the Prix Fixe menu at Stack. Seeing as how it was early, it was not crowded at all...maybe 5 other couples were dining when we arrived. We were seated at a cozy little table. Ambience was great! I loved the hardwood design inside and the lighting was perfect in my opinion. Our server was great. We had been seated only a few minutes when we were greeted by him. We ordered a couple of drinks from the bar from him. I had an Old Fashioned and the hubby had the Ketel One Bulldog. My drink was perfect. Hubby's was tasty too. It was like drinking an alcoholic milkshake. Drinks were about $19 each which we weren't surprised. We kind of expected to pay more considering we were on the strip. We rarely venture out to the strip and the price of drinks is one of the reasons why, but for tonight, we dug our heels in. At least the drinks tasted great! :) A few minutes later, the chef stopped by our table to welcome us as well. Chef Eric was his name. Super nice man. He sent us a complimentary appetizer of the Hot Rocks which is thinly sliced sirloin you literally cook yourself on these giant hot rocks brought to your table. It was delicious! In addition, later during the dinner, the restaurant manager, Griffin, also stopped by our table to welcome us and see how our dinner was which we thought was very nice of him. We told him how we were going to see Boyz II Men and he offered up the tip, "Make sure to catch a rose!", as he left our table. I wasn't sure what he meant, but after seeing the concert, I understood! Back to dinner...For the Prix Fixe menu we each had a choice of one of the following: Appetizer: TOMATO SOUP, WEDGE SALAD or ARTISAN MEAT & CHEESE COMBO Entrée: MARY'S ROASTED CHICKEN, KING SALMON or 8 OZ. FILET Dessert: JELLY DOUGHNUT "MUNCHKIN" HOLES For the appetizer, I chose the artisan meat and cheese combo and the hubby had the wedge salad. It was enough for both of us to share. The wedge salad was delicious with creamy blue cheese dressing and crisp bacon. The Artisan Meat and Cheese combo had just enough cheese (blue, manchego one more I cannot recall) and meats (prosciutto, salami and one other I cannot remember). It was also served with honeycomb, and I believe what was quince jelly, green olives, strawberries and several slices of bread. I cannot tell you about how satisfied I was with the entrees. I had the filet and hubby had the roasted chicken. My filet was cooked a perfect medium rare and practically melted in my mouth. It was so tender and cut like butta! It was served with a side of asparagus which was also cooked on point. Sometimes when I get asparagus, it is overcooked and limp beyond belief. This was just right. But I could not get enough of the filet! My husband had the roasted chicken. I had a bite of his and the chicken was soooo moist and cooked wonderfully. It was not dry at all. It was served on a bed of creamy mashed potatoes. And let me tell you, his roasted chicken was a very hefty portion size too! For dessert, you do not get an option, but we both were served the Jelly Doughnut "Munchkin" Holes. They were filled with a blueberry jelly and served with a side of crème anglaise sauce for dipping. You get about 3 doughnuts in each serving which turned out to be just enough. I'm a chocolate fiend, so I would have loved a chocolate dessert, but these were okay. I thought we were served a pretty fantastic dinner considering the price we paid for the prix fixe menu. It was definitely worth it. Like I said, the ambience was great and the staff was also amazing and attentive. The restaurant definitely filled up as we left. Would definitely love to go back and try more of this delicious food!
