| - Paramount is just down the street from my office and I love a good falafel.
I was recently "honoured' with the task of conducting monthly department meetings and work which involves ordering lunch for about 25 people. After 3 years of bagel lunches, a few people complained. Part of me was like "It's free lunch, shut up!" and part of me could see the merit in their dissatisfaction.
So when I saw on Paramount's website that they do large catering orders (which you have to pick up), I thought it was an easy decision.
I ordered chicken and beef skewers (sold by the pound), falafel balls ($1 each), lots of hummus and pita and tabouleh. Healthy department lunch time! Everything was under $200 for the whole department and was ready when I went to pick it up. While they were sealing everything to make sure nothing popped over on my walk back to work, a lovely man who seemed really interested in certain parts of my body offered me a falafel ball while I was waiting. I was like....what? In my hand? When he nodded as though this was completely normal, I obliged and stood there, in my high heels and work attire, eating a falafel ball with my bare hands, no napkin and no utensils. And it was so good.
I haven't eaten in so I have no comments on that, but they're a great alternative to boring sandwich lunches if you're in the downtown core!
