  • If you've been to one Home Depot, you've seen them all. Depending on your perspective, this can be a good thing or a bad thing. There isn't anything particularly wrong about the store on Verona Rd compared to other Home Depots I've visited. They have a selection of items from DIY construction to simple tasks like gardening or bulb replacement. There is a nice selection of cleaning supplies too. I've purchased custom wood blinds from this store. The delivery was fast, and the quality was good. I find their garden section to be more than adequate. They have a nice selection of plants, and a very good selection of tools to go along with it. Nevertheless, I find it surprising how many items Home Depot doesn't have considering the size of the store. For example, I went there yesterday to purchase simple weatherstrips to seal a door in my house. I was rather shocked at the lack of options. They have almost no flexible, smaller weatherstrip options. There are plenty of garage door type strips, but nothing for smaller doors that I could find. Also, they have a severe lack of options for things like landscape lights. They carry no 120V models now, focusing only on 12V. I get it; the 12V lights are more efficient. Am I supposed to tear out the buried 120V lines in my yard then? No thanks; I went to another store instead. And it's really hard to believe they carry so few options for screws! Screws: aren't these among the most basic items that every hardware store should have in abundance? Not Home Depot. I go to another store for these, which is really quite pathetic. The help in Home Depot is very minimal, so I never know if I'm really seeing all their options. It's possible they have some things that I couldn't find. But it's a huge store. I need help getting to what I need, and I suspect that others do, as well. Very often, they can't provide that help. There is another big box DIY store in the area, which will remain nameless here, which I find to be a better place to shop. Ultimately though, Home Depot still provides a good place to shop in most cases.
