| - This is the kind of small business that you think you want to support. I buy a lot of flowers and live in the neighborhood. Most of my experiences here have been ok, good not great - the kind of rough around the edges transaction that can be charming at times, annoying at other times.
Today pushed me over the edge, and it is time for a new florist. I went to pick up flowers for my wife, selected a half dozen lilies and was getting ready to pay. At that point the owner realized that they needed lilies in bloom. It is wedding season, I get it, you need to have open flowers. No big deal, I would have been happy to help out.
Instead the person filling my order tried to just swap out all the open flowers that I had selected for a bunch of closed flowers, did not say anything or ask me if I was ok with it and basically just tried to pull a fast one. The owner and another employee were all there, saw this happen and seemed totally on board with the plan.
You are a small business, you don't have a lot of product on hand, it is wedding season - no big deal. But don't be shady about it and try to swap out something without talking to your customer who is standing right there. Don't treat me like I am stupid and can't see what is going on.
