It was a Tuesday evening when at 6:03pm I opened the door and entered the store. I was abruptly stopped in my tracks and informed that the store had just closed (they had just forgotten to lock the door). I awkwardly backed out onto the street and this is where it gets off-putting. I sat on the bench in front of the store and began to text my wife the bad news. Just then an employee and another customer walked past and into the store, with the customer asking whether they were still open. I sat in shock staring through the window while I witnessed them serve up the customer's order, catering to his needs as he pointed out what he would surely be enjoying soon. I slumped back into the bench hungry and defeated. I swore never to look for meat there again.
