| - We have lived at Skysong for five months. MAA has owned and managed Skysong for nearly two months and the condition of the property continues to run downhill every day. Improvements are being made to the pool area and other areas while basic cleaning is neglected. The concrete floors in the hallways are filthy with dirt, garbage and dog urine. The property manager agrees that they are filthy but has not scheduled any cleaning. Dog poop is left in the courtyard areas by residents and is not cleaned up. Food is left on the grills in the common area and not cleaned up for days. The carpets in the hallways have only been vacuumed once since we have lived here, and that is when the rugs were finally shampooed after being neglected since the building was new. The rugs in the hallways need to be vacuumed and spot cleaned regularly. We have reported incidents of a resident riding his bicycle in the hallways repeatedly, a resident passed out and sleeping all night on a pool chair, and a dog swimming IN the swimming pool (dogs are not permitted within the pool enclosure let alone in the pool). We sent photos to the property manager of beer cans left in the hallways, holes in the walls in the hallways, a grocery cart left in the hallway, a huge bug in the hallway, broken fans, dog poop in the hallway, spilled soda on a rug in the hallway with two large cups left on the floor, glass and beer bottles at the pool (which are prohibited) and all manner of other issues. All of this in the last six weeks. The building is an entirely non-smoking property yet we smell smoke all the time - residents smoke on the property and near the entrances. Cigarette butts can be seen daily on the ground. The workers at the office building next door stand right next to our entrance and smoke all day. We have asked management to address this issue and nothing has been done to date. Second hand smoke is a big issue not only because this is a totally non-smoking property, but also because the hallways are completely open to the outside because of the construction of the building. Living here is not the luxury experience that we are paying a lot of money for. We are wondering if anyone at MAA cares about turning this property around, or if we should just give up being vocal about our concerns and start looking for another place to live. We really do not want to move as the apartment itself is great. We can only wonder what kind of impression is being made when prospective residents see the things that we see day in and day out. This may sound like exaggeration but it is not - we have photos of everything, and more. FYI - reviews from when the property was new that were written by new residents were written at a time when the former property management company was offering an economic incentive for people to write great reviews.
