  • Nervous as I was to scope out a new barber/hairstylist, I elected to stop by Garrisons for a hip new do. Based on the overwhelmingly positive reviews here on Yelp, I decided to drop in on busy Friday evening. Their easy online reservation system made appointments as simple as a few clicks away. Garrison's By The Park can be found right across from Trinity Bellwoods Park, go up a flight of stairs and you are in an ol-timey retro barbershop. It was busy but not too busy to offer you a friendly welcome. Yoshi was my barber for this evening. A quick chat and a few deft hand strokes through my hair was enough for him to assess my hair, make a few suggestions and begin clipping away. I knew I was good hands by his deft touch (...you might roll your eyes at me but I can usually tell right away how skilled a hair stylist is by his fine motor skills.) Yoshi was precise and swift. I walked out of Garrisons with exactly the haircut i envisioned, feeling like a million bucks and a lot less guilty for cheating on my usual hairstylist. I'll definitely be back!
