| - My last time at a science center was when I was a kid. My parents used to take my to this one in Jersey all the time, but each and every time, I would still be amazed by it. I don't know if it was just because I was a kid and looked at everything in wonderment, or if that one was just bigger and better, but I just didn't get the same feeling with the Great Lakes Science Center.
We only had two hours to go through everything because we had just come from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame (right across the street). It was just enough time to see pretty much everything (in a rush), but we didn't have time to catch any IMAX shows. Some of the activities were pretty cool. Even though this place is kid-centric, I was amazed by some of the things. I guess that just proves that science never ceases to astonish, no matter what age you are.
It was actually quite nice coming later in the afternoon (it was 3 pm on a Friday) because it was empty, That means I didn't have to feel bad about fighting a little kid on the thing where you can blow a giant bubble. So if you have a weekday free, the best time to come is late afternoon.
There is metered parking on the street but we were just able to nab one of the last few spots. So during a busier time, say a weekend, I'm not sure how the parking situation would be since there is no lot (at least not a free one that I saw).
Tip - if you have a valid student ID, you can save a dollar per ticket. Not much but a dollar is still a dollar, right?
