This is definitely not your stereotypical Dominican Beauty Salon. It is located in a great/safe area and the decor is young, modern and fresh. I was very impress with the service and how attentive both my hair stylist and manicurist were.
The salon is very clean. You can tell the owner has put a lot of effort and dedication to get this salon to its fullest potential. They offer you a beverage uptown arrival. They have complimentary toiletries to freshen up in the restroom.
Luisa was my hair stylist during this visit. I've never had a Dominican blow out from someone who isn't from the Dominican Republic. I was very worried and wanted to wait for the owner, Katherine, to do my hair. I have to admit, this was probably one of the best blow outs I've ever had. This hair stylist executed the same techniques as any other Dominican hair stylist would. I was very happy with the results and I can't wait to come back this summer.
The manicurist did my manicure while I was in roller sets under the dryer. I like getting my nails and hair done at the same time. You know what they say, kill two birds with one stone. I came out of this salon feeling brand new in less than 2 hours.
I am a big fan of Moroccan Hair products and I was very happy to see that they use these products here. I do think that using these products is one of the main reasons why they charge more than other salons. If you have never used Moroccan Oil products, you wouldn't understand why. These are what I believe to be the best hair products on the market.
