  • This place has so much potential to be great- but falls wayyyy short. After our experience, I would never stay at this property again. I reserved our room two weeks before our trip through the Southwest website- a standard King suite. When we arrived, they had trouble finding our reservation because they had somehow swapped my first and last names in the computer. No big deal, really- but it gives you an idea of how this operation runs. We get up to our room- lo and behold- two queens. In the handicap accessible/ specialized room right across from the elevators. Because we have a toddler who sleeps between us these days, having a king is pretty important. I called the front desk, and they told me that the website doesn't specify room types for them. Kinda strange, since the website asks you about room type. I even pulled up my confirmation email Had a king not been available here, I would have definitely looked elsewhere. I even pulled up the confirmation email which clearly shows the room type. The lady at the front desk who checked us in told us we got the last room available so there was no way to move us. Since I've booked travel for a living, I know that means they sold the room I reserved to someone else before I arrived and left me with their least desirable room. It's one thing if we arrive just before midnight and there's a chance they think I won't show up on a sold out night, but we arrived a little before 7pm- not at all late. I reminded the clerk that they aren't supposed to do that, but she told me room types are never guaranteed. (Lie.) She also accused me of having a near heart attack when she couldn't find the reservation under my name. Ummm- I barely reacted except to ask if she wanted my reservation number, instead. Pretty tame, especially since my toddler wasn't being patient. Resigned to our room, we decided to open the blinds. Because it's a handicapped accessible room the blinds are operated with a switch...that wasn't working. So, at 7pm, we had to wait to have a guy come fix our blinds, with a hungry toddler whose been on a plane most of the day. For an hour, because they couldn't actually be fixed. Merely adjusted open. And since we couldn't close them, that means the we were blinded by the early sunrise on a morning that we could have used a small sleep-in. Well our room was at least clean. Or so we thought. Please reference my pictures of the huge hairball and dingy yellow-stained shower curtains or reference. After all that, they begrudgingly agreed to knock $50 off the room, but I really think they should have done more. Positive notes: valet, engineering and other staff were generally very nice. Free breakfast was great. Location and view from room were spectacular.
