  • I went to this pet store with my friend to pick out a dog and was pretty saddened by what I saw. When I first walked in I was greeted by some jumping puppies in three open cages filled with shredded paper. Contrary to popular belief a dogs natural habitat is not a plastic cage with newspaper. I know, crazy. Second the dogs looked and felt malnourished. Their ribs were exposed and many of them looked sickly (hair falling out, sleepy, throwing up, coughing). I felt so horrible for these animals. Second the staff seemed as though they did not care about the customers, or these animals AT ALL. We were not welcomed, we were not acknowledged. When we got there the woman in the front quickly rushed to the back and went through a door where we could not follow. It took us 5 minutes to track down someone to speak too. When another rep arrived I told her that one of the yorkie puppies had been acting like it was not feeling good (lethargic, hacking) and she said "Oh I just watched it eat some paper that's why"....Are you kidding me!??? You're allowing these dogs to INGEST the paper that you're putting them in!??? Quit putting them in paper dummy!!! Even if the dog had ingested paper (which it hadn't, I was watching it the entire time) shouldn't you do something about it? I don't know get it out of the cage with the other 3 puppies that are crawling all over it while it just want's to sleep? At least PRETEND like you care! Third, these puppies were out in the open where anyone, with any disease could pet, kiss, and hug them. They're just going to be carriers from one human to the next. That's like giving someone food on a plate, then that person licks the plate and without washing it you give it to another person with food on it. Overall, these animals were malnourished and I would not be surprised if many of them were sick or dying. There was nothing "PRO" about this place. Steer clear.
