| - Where to begin.
Ill start off positive--this was a fun activity. i truly enjoyed the water boat / jet boat experience, and deff had a great time. I would do it again, but not in this location.
let...me....tell...you..why...
First off, i came on a Monday. I booked my "Rafting" trip around 9 am that day...for two...and was told to come about 30 mins ahead of time.
Showed up 30 mins early to be told that we will most likely not be rafting. Very odd, since i called around 9 am and my trip wasnt until 3pm ish. I would think if it needed to be canceled that the management would have called us.
But now, apparently in order to do rafting you need at least 6 people in the raft, --which we were not told...and there was myself, my friend-- along with another 2 other women who were booked.
I get it-- things happen, but what i dont like is driving out on the island of Montreal onto another section, out of the way, which took about 30 mins..showing up on time..to be told that we cant do it.You had ample time to notify me that there would be a change of plans.
*Also, note that the rafting is cheaper than the other options here. I had only brought a certain about of cash on me in order to do the rafting activity. I did not want to use my credit or debit card in Montreal either ( i am from the US).
So basically the woman at the counter kept saying we will have to wait for her manager and see if we would raft, but we need 6 people. i was bit annoyed and said to her, why didnt you call and us know? we want rafting and should have notified us since thats what we wanted..we booked hours of ago and should have had a warning. She was just very vague, a bit rude, and didnt seem to care. Kept saying that we would have to speak to management and theres nothing she can do. Also,i asked if the price would be accomodated since we scheduled and reserved one thing and now we cant get that? ( the jet boat was more expensive) and she said no that she might be able to give us a discount, of i think about $4 but that was all. i was trying to remain calm but felt that was really poor customer service since not only did they not communicate with us about not being able to give us what we wanted in our reservations, but now we were being forced to get something more expensive? Mind you, i told her i only had the specific amount for the rafting.
Manager comes, and she was still a bit uptight and didnt accomodate much. she said we would have to do the jet boat and thats our option. i explained i had the $ amount for rafting and couldnt pay the full price for the jet boat, she said she will take what i had and pay out of her pocket the rest. I appreciated that and said think you for being understanding. my friend however, had to pay the amount they wanted---i believe there was a $3 discount or something of that sort. I felt terrible because at this point, the $ i had wanted to use as a tip was now going towards the jet boat price. The two people in our jet boat who were entertaining and working that day were great, but sadly i could not tip them.
id also like to say that when checked in, it says 2 free photos from that day on the trip. i showed the woman who originally checked us in and yup..2 weeks later still no free photos.
beware when scheduling, make sure to ask if its 100% going to happen, make sure to have ample money because these people are stubborn and will not fully accomodate you even though what you book is what you might not get.
