Simply put, I really enjoyed my experience at Nobuo.
During restaurant week I had an opportunity to grab a dinner by myself at a restaurant that was on my list in Phoenix. I was not disappointed.
My meal included the seasonal vegetable antipasto with a small cold soup, shishito peppers and I can't remember what else. Everything was tasty and elegant.
Then came the sashimi:
I opted for the Yellowtail and Grapefruit. It was fantastic. The flavors were delicate and balanced, each bite on an individual soup spoon.
Next I slipped in an order of my own; the uni. Again, fantastic.
The "big" course was a lobster roll. For those not in the know, this means sandwich, not sushi. It was fantastic, as were the japanese french fries (tossed in nori).
Dessert was an orange almond fritter with jasmine tea ice cream. Excellent.
I use a shortage of words because the food was that good. My wordy reviews are for mediocre and bad food.
The tab with tip and a beer for one person: $85 I will go back.
