| - When we went to Tsujiri on Saturday afternoon, we only had to wait 15 mins. I guess the hype died down pretty quickly because it wasn't as great as most had anticipated.
My friends and I each got a sundae. The total came up to $8.50 each, cash only.
Tsujiri Sundae: There was a piece of plain mochi, a piece of chesnut, and a sakura cookie on top of it. Under the soft serve they have red bean paste and some sort of rice puff at the bottom.
The matcha soft serve was very good. It had a great texture, very creamy, and it was extremely matcha-y. The rest of it was just okay, I don't think it was worth the money for the sundae at all. The cookie was very strange. It was kind of soggy, a little salty, mostly weird. The bottom of the sundae was okay, but the texture of the rice puff beads really bothered me and stuck to my teeth after a few bites and I couldn't finish them.
Note: The ice cream melts extremely quickly. I'm glad we got pictures as soon as the girl put them down because they were all melty by the time we walked out the door.
Honestly, I don't think what we got was worth the money at all. I had Tsujiri in Tokyo a few years back (Matcha float) and it was okay, but also nothing really that special. Again, it was the soft serve that saved it for me.
I am definitely a fan of the matcha soft serve, but I probably would not return for a while due to the steep prices they are charging.
