| - IF you decide to build in 2017 and beyond, know that a lot of skilled labor has left the state, and the trade pickings are slim for the builders. We thought we were building a dream home- complete disaster in execution and pride in workmanship! 45 days from COE, we had to walk away because of insanely poor construction. We were made to feel 'picky' and told by sales that we should just trust them to deliver a beautiful product at the end... NOPE! We both have an above average eye for detail, being in an architectural/design field, but shame on Fulton. I feel awful for the people who end up with what was supposed to be our house or any nearby- we saw how poorly they were erected.
BUYER BEWARE! DOCUMENT EVERYTHING! TAKE PHOTOS! Take notes. Check on your home regularly. HIRE A PRIVATE INSPECTION at foundation, framing, prior to final walk through/BEFORE COE, and around 10/11 months after COE, right before your 1 year warranty expires... If you can't afford to hire a series of inspections, do not build right now. Even with them, you will be dealing with issues and repairs for years, but maybe less if you have a professional representative. Consider yourself warned. We are SO THANKFUL we got out of our contract. Ask yourselves- were we let out of a contract just because they were tired of dealing with us, or because they knew we would have a case.....? I was giving them some credit for releasing us, but they are now listing 'our' house as a spec for $20,000 more than our contract. They won't lose a dime on us, but they will sure make one off of you....
