  • I'd give this place a zero (0) if I can! The other reviewers were right. The front office is ignorant, rude and flat stupid. But here's how it went: I called to make an appointment for a follow-up on some blood work. Last January, Dr. Lee diagnosed me with diabetes and instructed me to get my blood work done in May/June to see if my numbers improved without medication. I called in May and made an appointment to draw blood but had to cancel. I had no problems making that appointment. Yesterday, I called to reschedule. The gal said I had to make an appointment to see Dr Lee first then she'll give me an order to draw blood. I stated that that was unnecessary to see the doctor when she wouldn't have anything to discuss with me. She could simply walk across the hall and give the order to the lab or place it in my file! It would make more sense to draw my blood, wait for the results then see the doctor afterwards to discuss a plan with me. I mean, I've lost the weight and saw a nutritionist on my own. I'm eating much better and exercising regularly. Well, the gal just kept reiterating I had to see the doctor first. I implied that this was a scam - to bill my insurance company for two doctor visits instead of one which also meant two deductible payments. I insisted to speak with someone else. The gal said that a medical assistant to Dr. Lee would call me back. They never did. So today, I called again for an appointment. The front office was rude (Heather) and incompetent. I demanded to speak with Dr. Lee. She said I couldn't because "PROVIDERS" Do Not speak with their patients!!! What a bunch of crock! We went in circles and I was still unable to make an appointment to draw my blood. I was told someone else will call me. I have never had a problem with any of my doctors from San Diego, Chicago and DC as they have always instructed me to draw blood first and make an appointment to go over the results with the doctor. Heck, my husband just did a follow-up with his blood work the other day without seeing his doctor. His appointment to SEE his doctor is next week. Well, in the meantime, I Yelped and searched and found another doctor with a lab on sight and asked them thorough questions about drawing blood, the doctor, the staff (they were very kind on the phone) and so I made an appointment. I've decided to drop Camelback Health Care. Soon after I received a voicemail that a Joanna called from Camelback. I called back. The front desk was rude again. Only asked for date of birth (they always do, they don't ask your name or say hello) and of course the gal saw the history of the phone calls and never connected me to Joanna. She said (I personally don't think the front office staff ever communicated with the doctor) - "Dr. Lee says you need to make an appointment to see her first then draw blood". What are we going to talk about? Hi, how's your summer? Your hotflashes still bothering you? What do you think about Julia Roberts divorce? What about Kim Kardashian's wedding dress? Oh, here's your lab order to draw blood so walk over across the hall and I'll see you next week! WTF? This is a SCAM. I'd rather spend my extra dollars on a huge carna asada burrito then to pay my deductible twice! I'm outta here. So sorry for Dr. Lee. All that fancy furniture, beautiful building and location isn't worth my time to travel there and deal with rude front office staff.
