I really wanted to try this place because I love shrimp and I loved the movie. When you walk it, it's just the gift shop. You have to walk up a couple of flights of stairs to get to the restaurant. Here's what I liked about this place. The ambience. Great service and helpful staff. We got seated on the patio which had a great view of the Strip. Really cool idea to have signs on your table to let staff know when you need them: Run Forrest Run or Stop Forrest Stop. The waiter asked us trivia about Forrest Gump, which kinda stumped us. Here's what I didn't like about this place: The Food. It sucked. We ordered the Frizzled Onion Rings for an appetizer. Frizzled is right; the breading came off easily, it was just skinny onions. We both ordered Forrest's Seafood Feast, which were told it was the most popular. It consists of Fried Shrimp, Fish and Chips with their special hushpuppies. The shrimp was average at best. The "fish" was awful. Very thin strips of heavily breaded fish. I've had better fish sticks. The hushpuppies were ok, they had corn inside, but they were small. Considering the price of this menu, the food does not reflect it. The only thing that prevented me from giving one star was the "experience". If you are a Forrest Gump fanatic, you'll love this place. Maybe just stick to drinks though.
