We have stayed at many of the other modern Old Montreal boutique hotels on business trips, but loved the Gault for having more natural light and space compared to the others. Old Montreal is our favorite spot to stay when we are in the city; it's classic and hip at the same time, and full of great spots for dining and exploring. Our JR suite room at Hotel Gault had gorgeous, classic exposed brick. The staff were all exceptionally friendly - no French attitude here! We didn't love the color of the birch wood closet and desk, but it all worked together okay in our room. The rest of the design was on point. The free but super slow wifi would have been a huge issue if we had to work during our stay, but luckily we were there over a holiday weekend. Valet parking ($35/night) was available and prompt, which made it easy to deal with our car even though you're in the old city.
