  • My friends and I went to the Rogers Centre to watch the Jays play in late August. We bought our tickets right at game time and used the automated kiosk. We requested the best available seats at the lowest price bracket. We ended up about 6 rows from the top in the 500 section. The section was nearly empty with rows upon rows of empty seats below us. I'm not sure if those seats were actually sold or if the computer was glitched out or what but it seems there were better seats to be had for the same price. The stadium itself is pretty bland and lacks real character (despite housing several championship Jays teams in the 90's). The dome was also closed that particular and which made it very humid, hot and generally uncomfortable. We had a few King cans of beer at $10 a pop (ouch) but avoid the seemingly over priced food. The between inning entertainment was hit and miss. I've always liked "the world's fastest grounds crew" that take the field to the William Tell overture and the 7th inning stretch is always fun. However some of the fan contests were pretty silly. Overall the experience was tolerable which would have been much more enjoyable with better seats and the dome open. Atleast the Jays won, probably the best (and most important) part of the visit.
