Our experience mirrors David D's -- the sound system on the night Queens of the Stone Age performed was terrible. It was such a fail that my long time rock concert goer husband couldn't agree more.
Kudos to the staff for the fast check in process. They efficiently handled the long lines of patrons that seem to endlessly snake around the ropes. You have to go through a metal detector and for the ladies, a purse check. After what happened several months ago in Vegas, I think this is a necessary step.
Our seats up in the balcony was comfortable, but not the ideal way to see a rock band live. Also, the ushers are pretty strict in keeping the aisles clear and you can't put your drink down on the banister. The lounge area on the second floor near the bar area is a life saver! especially for 4 inch heels wearers like me who need to sit down so I don't spill a ounce of my $14 cup of wine ;-)
The Chelsea sound staff may need to tweak their system a bit to make coming here a more enjoyable experience. Otherwise, they'll lose potential business to The Brooklyn Bowl.
