| - Having had many years of retail experience, I may, or may not, be a tougher critic then some.
But...
As another Yelper noted, this is more a health food market, than it is a vitamin/supplement store. And while I buy many supplements from online retailers, I prefer to shop local businesses - primarily because I like to support the local economy, plus I like the attentiveness that local business owners give to perspective customers.
The person working the cash register was clueless. Though she was unoccupied, she didn't greet me when I walked in, nor did she care to assist me as I walked around this small store, obviously unable to find what I wanted to buy.
After soliciting her help, she summoned two other people. They seemed approachable, but they weren't overly engaging - in other words, no small talk; no one offered to order a product that they didn't carry, no one asked what I was using the product for - that they might offer a substitute, etc.
As I left, the unoccupied cashier didn't say a word.
The store had a few patrons, but was far from busy.
Organic Marketplace is clean, neat, and nicely laid out, but their prices were on the high side of "normal."
I don't live in the immediate area, and there's nothing here to compel me to visit the store again, especially when there are competing markets in the Charlotte area.
A shame.
