  • This Urban Outfitters branch is the only one in the Cleveland area, but it is pretty disappointing for three big reasons: 1. The stock here is ordinary, and in my opinion, boring! When I go into an Urban Outfitters, I expect to see unique, outside-of-the-box, and creative pieces. However, at this branch, you are hard pressed to find the very trendy pieces that you see on their website or at branches in other large cities. There's more to life than flannel shirts, floral baby doll dresses, graphic crop tops, and ankle booties! Most everything you could purchase from this branch would be similar to something you could find at Forever 21 or H&M (for much cheaper!). 2. The quality of the clothes at Urban Outfitters is highly questionable and has declined over the past few years. Most of the pieces here fall apart pretty quickly, which is unacceptable given the price you pay for them. For example, last month, I bought a very cute overall dress that I was so excited to wear! When I went to put it on the next day, one of the clasps instantly broke. This particular article of clothing was $59, so I was expecting it to hold up for at least a little while! While I don't have a ton of money to spend on clothes, I am definitely of the mindset where I am willing to pay a little more if I am sure that it great quality that is going to last me a long time. However, that was certainly not the only instance of overpriced, poor quality clothing I've experienced at UO. I've had jeans with zippers that have fallen off, tall knit socks that get holes in them after just one wear, shoe soles that rip out, tights that snag the first time you put them on, necklaces and hair accessories that fall apart instantly, and the list goes on. 3. This Urban Outfitters branch has dramatically downsized their home decor, kitch-and-usless-but-cool items, as well as unique books. Up until a year or two ago, this section used to take up half of the upstairs. Now it is split between the display by the front door, and a small back corner on the second floor. I furnished my apartment with tons of their decorative accessories a couple years ago, but now the selection is very limited. On the plus side, the staff here is friendly, they play interesting music on the overhead speakers, and they do have some cool books to browse. And if you look hard enough and are careful with what you buy, you can find some great clothing pieces here. But if you are like me, most of the time, the search is futile, and you will leave empty handed. I am finding that its not worth the visit altogether. My conclusion: skip this Urban Outfitters, it has low quality, banal, overpriced items that do not stand out from more affordable competitors.
