  • Hot days call for cooling dips in blue waters...even if those waters are only blue because of a plastic pool lining. I work from home, about a 10 minute bike ride from this Christie Pits park adjacent pool, and today I decided to take my "lunch break" at the pool. A sandwich is portable. A pool is not. It was an easy choice to make. And with public pools being free these days, heading for a dip and a poolside lounge for just an hour is a sound financial decision as well. This pool is usually pretty busy on nice days, so its not great for getting your laps in, but it has all the other features you need and want: splash pad with fountain, small "warm" pool, large shallow pool, and finally a medium sized deep pool compete with diving board and big tall twisty slide. Plus clean showers and changing area, and a nice view of the park. There are also a ton of lifeguards so that aforementioned busyness always feels under control. Pro tip: its not unheard of for this or any of the other popular city pools to have lineups for entry on sunny weekend days. Factor this into your pool plans accordingly.
