  • Finally tried The Halal Guy in Toronto. Let's just say thank god we weren't one of those people that lined up for a hour for this when they first opened. Ordered the large combo platter to share with my boyfriend, which has chicken, gyro, a spoonful of tomato, some lettuce, orange rice, and three slices of pita. This comes to $14 - quite steep for the quality. The only good thing about this platter and like any Halal guy food is their infamous white sauce, and hot sauce for the brave ones. Otherwise, the meat especially the chicken lacks flavor and taste bland. The orange rice doesn't seem fresh as they were clumped together. The hot sauce was my favourite part and it was the only thing that can merely remind me of the Halal Guys in NYC. Pro tip: ask for the red sauce on the side. They come in individual packets.
