A friend of mine suggested this place after hearing I was heading to Pittsburgh for a weekend; a must-see, he said, and after having been here I can definitely see why!
The incline originally dates back to the 1870's, allowing transport for workers from their homes in Mount Washington to the mills and factories built along the river. Though the setup is quite up there in age, it's clear that the incline has been incredibly well-maintained/renovated since then, all while maintaining that old look and charm that everybody can appreciate.
You can purchase a round trip from the top or the bottom of the incline, which is perfect if you're at Mount Washington and wish to get to Station Square with ease, or if you're a tourist who wishes to get up to the beautiful lookout that oversees the magnificent city of Pittsburgh. It's definitely an experience everyone should have for themselves!
