For lunchtime, Mad Greek is the bomb. I'm very fond of their gyro which is a large, meat-laden pita baby. I get it served with piping-hot fries and a small side salad. The broiled octopus (oktapodaki) is a must try. I've never tasted a more tender octopus. They offer complimentary pita while you wait for your meal. The pita is warm, yummy and has a nice soft texture.
The waitresses are sweet and friendly and I'm a bit surprised that this place doesn't attract a larger lunch crowd. I'm guessing that this place doesn't turn around food quickly enough for the regular 1-hour lunch customer. The Mad Greek's kitschy decor may be over the top for some people but I find it interesting. I have to admit that if I look at it for a long time, it pains my aesthetics.
Some of the prices on their entrees are steeper than expected, especially the seafood. I haven't had a chance to explore other items on their menu but I hope the increased price equates to fresher ingredients and food made to order.
