I have been going to Park Street shoe repair close to 20 years. In 1990, my car broke down right at the stop light across from them. The owner came out and helped me move my car behind his shop and told me I could leave it there until I could have it towed later. A few years later, I needed a repair, remembered his act of kindness and took the repair to his shop. He did a fantastic job and charged me only the cost of the materials, no labor. Rose, obviously hates men. I have always been treated with utmost respect when I have gone there. Yes, the owner and the people that hang out there are from a very different Era, but have never felt a stifling air of 1950s misogyny. Rose needs to keep her gender specific hatred in check.
